Reds Cricket Club

OnwardWelcome to Reds Cricket Club

Reds Cricket Club in Melbourne, Australia, is a unique club: perhaps the nation's only sporting club founded by socialists and organised in line with left-wing principles. Today's Reds are an eclectic mix of idealists, unionists, intellectuals, academics, teachers, vegans, anarchists, rebels with and without a cause.

The Reds field three senior and two junior teams in Melbourne cricket competitions. Our seniors participate in the Mercantile Cricket Association while junior teams (under-14 and under-16) play in the North West Cricket Association.  Most senior teams play in scenic Fawkner Park, South Yarra, or at nearby Herring Oval on Domain Road. Training sessions are held twice-weekly at Arden Street Oval, North Melbourne, beginning at about 5.45pm on Wednesdays and Fridays. New players are always welcome.
